The Q5 is among the most slow robots we have tested, however, its layout algorithm is reliable and doesn't require any additional attention after its first pass through an area. It begins by tracing a perimeter and then fills the interior with parallel lines. Once it's finished it returns to its charging station, or its base if it left the base.
It did a great job of cleaning hardwood floors and removing at least 88% dirt off each test. It struggled more on low- and high-pile carpets however, it performed much better than the standard unit. It also has mopping attachments for dealing with wet spills, although we didn't test this feature.
